Our Beliefs

We believe God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities revealed to us as: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.

Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (NKJV)

There is one God who is the creator and leader of the universe.

Matthew 28:19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” (NKJV)

So God exists in three persons – God the Father, God the son and God the Holy Spirit.

Psalms 90:2, 2 Corinthians 13:14

What We Believe About Jesus:

We believe Jesus Christ is the son of God.  He is co-equal with the Father. He came to earth as man, born from a virgin, lived a perfect life, and died on the cross as a sacrifice so that we can have a personal relationship with God.  He ascended to Heaven’s glory, and will return again to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.

John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. V2. He was in the beginning with God.” (NKJV)

John 1:14 “The Word became a human being and, full of grace and truth, lived among us. We saw his glory, the glory which he received as the Father’s only Son.” (The Good news Translation)

1 John 5:7 “For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.” (The New King James Version)

Matthew 28:19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”(The New King James Version)

Matthew 1:22-23, Isaiah 9:6, I Timothy 3:16, Matthew 1:18

What We Believe About The Holy Spirit:

He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to live under His control daily. We believe that the baptism in the Holy Spirit is an endowment of power available to every believer. The Holy Spirit empowers us as believers with power to do what is right and to successfully live out our life and fulfill our purpose on the earth. He also gives Christians spiritual gifts, so they might serve the church and the world in a manner that surpasses their own natural abilities and limitations.

Acts 2:38  Peter said to them, “Each one of you must turn away from your sins and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, so that your sins will be forgiven; and you will receive God’s gift, the Holy Spirit. (The Good news Translation)

2 Corinthians 1:21 “It is God who gives us, the ability to stand firm for Christ.  He has commissioned us, V22. And he has identified us as his own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment of everything he will give us.” (New Living Translation)

Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us… (The New King James Version)

Acts 19:1-6, Mark 11:13, Luke 12:12, Luke 24:49, John 14:16-17,26, John 15:26, John 16:7-14, Acts 1:8, Acts 2:1-4,38, 1 Thess. 5:19, Psalm 139:13-16 (MSG), I Corinthians 12:7

What We Believe About Man:

Man is made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. He is the supreme object of God’s creation. Although man has tremendous potential for good, he is marred by an attitude of disobedience called “sin”. Through willful transgression and disobedience, people have fallen from their originally created state of righteousness, peace, and joy into a state of separation from God. Being separated from the source of life, love, and joy has resulted in bondage and death. We believe that God has a destiny for each believer and that His purpose for us involves the establishing of His Kingdom in our lives.

Genesis 1:26  “Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness…”  (The New King James Version)

Isaiah 59:1 Listen! The Lord is not too weak to save you, and he is not becoming deaf. He can hear you when you call. V2. But there is a problem—your sins have cut you off from God. (New Living Translation)

Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned; all fall short of God’s glorious standard. V24. Yet now God in his gracious kindness declares us not guilty. He has done this through Christ Jesus, who has freed us by taking away our sins.” (New Living Translation)

Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6; Romans 5:12-21

What We Believe About Salvation:

Salvation is the free gift of God. However, like any gift it must be received. This gift is received by faith, or by believing and trusting in Jesus Christ who died as our substitute that we might live.  Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can man be saved from sin’s penalty. In order to receive forgiveness for our sins we must repent of our sins, believe in Jesus Christ and submit to His will for our lives.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace we are saved through faith and that not of ourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works; lest any man should boast.”

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” (New Living Translation)

John 3:16, Romans 3:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, Hebrews 9:12,22; Romans 5:11; Romans 6:23

What We Believe About Eternal Life:

We believe the Bible is clear that there is eternal life for all believers and eternal punishment for unbelievers.  Man was created to exist forever. The moment you receive the gift of salvation you receive eternal life. Eternal separation from God is Hell. Eternal fellowship and union with God is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.

John 5:24 “I assure you, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life.” (New Living Translation)

II Peter 3:9 “…the Lord does not desire that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” (The New King James Version)

John 3:16, John 5:24, Mark 9:43-50; Revelation 20:10-15, II Thess. 1:9

What We Believe About the Bible:

The Bible was written to guide us and apply to our everyday lives. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error, relevant to contemporary society, and carries power to impart faith in life.

II Timothy 3:16 “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It straightens us out and teaches us to do what is right. V17. It is God’s way of preparing us in every way, fully equipped for every good thing God wants us to do.” (New Living Translation)

Psalms 119:160 “All your words are true; all your just laws will stand forever.” (New Living Translation)

Psalm 119:105; Proverbs 30:5; II Peter 1:20-21

Other Beliefs:

We believe that it is God’s plan for every believer to be baptized in water.  Baptism is an outward expression of one’s inner faith.

Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Acts 10:47-48

We believe in the operation of the gifts of the Spirit individually and corporately.  And that they are done in an orderly manner.

I Corinthians 12-14

Because of what Jesus has done on the cross, we believe that divine healing is available for every believer.

James 5:14; I Peter 2:24

We believe that communion (the Lord’s Supper) is an important activity in which every believer should participate.
